Hello!
This is our first official post! The idea behind this is to welcome you all and explain a little bit about what this space is about.
First of all, we need to clarify that this site is about eroge (erotic video games). The idea is to have a space where we can talk about them, get excited about them, talk about developers, share fun facts, explore mysteries that have surrounded this world, discover new devs and upcoming projects, check out future localizations, discuss games we want to see translated, and much more.
We also want to clarify that this is not going to be a space to download these games or facilitate illegal distribution. What we will do is share official links to buy them, as one of our main goals is to support the developers and publishers of these titles. We know that, just like any other video game, they take time, effort, and dedication to make. Furthermore, we have to keep in mind that being “erotic” drastically reduces their target market. Dedicated development in this genre can be risky due to low sales volume and social stigma, which makes it feel non-viable for many creators—sometimes negatively impacting the overall quality of eroge games.
It is precisely because of this taboo around eroge that I decided to launch this website. It’s a project I’ve been planning for a long time. I would love for this site to serve as a “bridge” between developers and players, even though I know reaching that point will take a lot of work. To avoid making this first post too dense, I’ll wrap it up here—but not without expressing my gratitude and giving a warm welcome to everyone visiting the site. I know it still looks a bit amateur, but I’ll keep working hard to improve it, so I hope we can grow together!
See you around,
G-ero.
